Why

Apex Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a natural medicine which aims to restore function in the body by treating the causes of pain and imbalance. To achieve this the osteopathic manual practitioner relies on the quality and finesse of his/her palpation and works with the position, mobility and quality of the tissues. This advanced system of health care embraces the philosophy that the body has a natural ability to be self-sufficient and to heal itself. The key factor that permits this process to proceed unimpeded is the ability of the body to freely circulate all of its fluids including blood, nerves, lymph, synovial fluid, digestive juices, cerebrospinal fluid and all other intracellular and extracellular fluids of the body. For those who have experienced it no explanation is necessary, and for those who have not, no explanation is viable that could possibly do it justice.

Practitioners trained in manual osteopathy evaluate and address the musculoskeletal, neurological, visceral, circulatory and cranial systems. An extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics allows the practitioner to find impairments in the body that can be treated to restore optimal function in the body. Assessment involves the entire body and fascinating links between different body regions and systems are typically discovered which explain why treating the site of pain has not been successful. For example, discovering that an old liver infection is the cause of your frozen shoulder; that an old surgical scar in the abdomen is the cause of neck pain and limited mobility; that inflamed tissues and altered blood flow in the upper back following car accident is responsible for recurrent migraines; that an unstable ankle following a sprain is the cause of your hip pain and tightness.

This one of a kind service offering integrates the philosophy, principles and practices from osteopathy, kinesiology and strength & conditioning for a life changing healthcare experience. I’m a hybrid of a clinician and a performance coach with a diverse skillset which is proven by over a decade of experience and thousands of happy clients. I understand how important verbal communication is and my post-grad research investigated verbal communication and its impact on patient outcomes during treatment. My system utilizes a whole-body approach which requires resolving the root cause of your pain as opposed to simply managing symptoms. A reconceptualization of how your thoughts, beliefs, history and behaviour are impacting your current experience is a fundamental step in the process.

Going above & beyond to provide advanced health solutions is my reason for being. If you’re uncertain if I can help make your health, fitness or performance goal a reality – don’t worry, we will make it happen. My investment in technology, research and innovation ensure that the only regret you have is that you didn’t come earlier.
